At S.T.I.X. Academy, every beat matters. What began as one man’s journey of healing has grown into a mission to restore hope, identity, and community through the power of rhythm, faith, and fellowship.

A Founder’s Story

Enrique Melendez served 22 years in the U.S. Army, including time with the elite 75th Ranger Regiment and the U.S. Army Parachute Team. After enduring a life-altering injury, he entered a long season of recovery that reshaped his life. In that season, two anchors, drumming and faith, restored his purpose. What began as personal healing became a calling to serve others. Today, Enrique is proudly married to Rosimar and father to Lyanne, and together they are the heartbeat behind S.T.I.X. Academy.

Our Vision and Mission

Vision: We restore hope and identity through rhythm, faith, and brotherhood, empowering youth and honoring veterans.

Mission: We teach drumming, mentor with purpose, and build a Christ-centered community, shaping youth with discipline and guiding veterans toward healing.

Why Rhythm?

Drumming at S.T.I.X. Academy is not just about music, it is accountability in motion. Personalized sessions combine rhythm with values-based workshops, reinforcing teamwork, discipline, and self-expression. From beginners finding their confidence to advanced students stepping into mentorship, every level offers a path of growth, leadership, and transformation.spired.

Serving Youth and Veterans

We mentor youth ages 12 and up to live with integrity, serve with empathy, and lead with purpose. At the same time, we create a space where veterans can find healing and renewed purpose through fellowship and service. Their wisdom shapes our programs, bridging generations and building legacies that last.

Building a Place to Belong

Our vision includes a dedicated facility designed for transformation: soundproof drum booths, a mentorship lounge, open classrooms, and a community rhythm wall. It will be a space where music, mentorship, and faith intersect to uplift lives and inspire belonging.

Accessible for All

We believe every student should have the opportunity to experience the power of drumming. That is why S.T.I.X. Academy offers scholarships through a sliding scale. Every student begins with a Pulse Scholarship that automatically covers 70 percent of tuition, and additional Enhanced Scholarships made possible by generous donors ensure no one is left behind.

S.T.I.X. Academy is at the ground floor of something extraordinary. With a fully developed launch plan, curriculum, and phased facility strategy, we are preparing to move from vision to reality. Whether through sponsoring a student, supporting veterans, or investing in our future facility, donors and partners have the opportunity to shape not just a program but a movement.
